ANIMELEAGUE CLUB LONDON (ALCL)
Running at between 200 and 400 people, ALCL is London's little anime convention. It's just £5 for all day from midday to midnight. We have dealers, video gaming, anime screening, an Artist Alley, DDRing, roleplaying, card-gaming, along with many events such as a masquerade, pub-quiz, parties, special guests (Roppongi Street and MasakoX of DBZ/Naruto Abridged are announced with more to come!) and much more!

Venue: The Slug and Lettuce, 1 America Square, London, EC3N 2LS
Tube: Five minutes from Tower Gateway & Tower Hill tube stations
It costs £5 to get in, and you need to be 18 years or older. Accommodation is available at just £17.50 a night.

ALCL will take place every 3-4 months (three times a year). The intention is to enable London to have a proper anime club again, following the sad demise of LAC last year.
ACTIVITIES
Video Gaming - We will be running tournaments throughout the day! We will also have a variety of up to date games, as well as retro-gaming, DDRing, Guitar Hero and much more!
Artists Alley - We will have a mini-artists alley for artists to chill out with a drink or three.
Anime Screenings - We will be showing anime screenings throughout the day. Titles showing shall be confirmed! Dealers - We shall be announcing what dealers will be attending over the next few months. There will be a range of anime-related products to check out and buy.
Roleplaying/Card Gaming - Want to do some card gaming or roleplaying? We'll be doing this as well! Bring along your cards and play away!

MasakoX - Creator of the hilarious Naruto Abridged and a major part of DBZ Abridged! Abridged series take an anime, edit it, and redub it to produce something very funny. If you're interested in becoming a voice-artist, then check this out!
Roppongi Street - Europe's #1 ParaPara club night specialists. ParaPara is a Japanese club dance. Each song has a separate routine to it, these routines are usually learnt from videos that you can buy and also in clubs in Japan from watching other people who know the routines already.
UK Otaku - Following the success of the live show at ALcon 2009 UKotaku will be back at ALCL presenting more multi-media mayhem. UKotaku will bring you music, video and of course oodles of anime with the usual lashings of general geekery listeners of our podcast have come to expect.

Just posting a few updates on Alcon to keep everyone in the loop. :)
After removing a number of unpaid members we can announce that we have spare places to register for Alcon again! However, we expect them all 400 to have been taken up by the end of June at the latest, so if you are interested in coming then make sure to register asap! You won't need to pay until June 30th! Three day registration is still only £25, so excellent value! You can register right now on Alcon's website at http://www.alcon.org.uk

Updates on Alcon 2008!
- Capacity of Alcon increased to 400. Following an extremely strong rate of signups, we have taken the decision to expand our capacity from 350 members to 400 members.
- We have acquired more accommodation so that ALL members will have somewhere to stay. At just £21 a night, it remains well-priced.
- The Quay will be our exclusive bar hire for Alcon 2008. It is about double the size of our previous bar at '07, the Bishops Blaise, and ideally suited to a convention of our size.
- Pheonix Games will be running the Alcon trading card games for Alcon 2008. If you check out their website, you will notice that they are already heavily involved in events, and we are delighted to have them aboard! They will be running a number of competitions and events over the weekend.
- New Guest! Sonia Leong will, best known for her latest manga, Shakespear: Romeo & Juilet, will be attending Alcon as our third guest. She is a core member of Sweatdrop Studios. Sweatdrop will also be attending Alcon as dealers. You can find her formal biography here and you can check out her website here. ^_^
- Maz, the owner of the well-known British Ball Jointed Doll website Angels Of Life will be attending Alcon 2008. She will be displaying her BJDs, and also hosting information panels about BJDs which will vary between how to string/restring dolls, explaining how to do faceups, examples of products used, and so forth. - We will have a Plushie Workshop it will run for approximately three hours in the Panels room of Alcon on the Friday, and possibly also the Saturday.
- MGAC will be doing a panel about creating radio podcasts at Alcon as well as recording one of their shows live! You can listen to some of their podcasts on their website.
- More dealers are being confirmed. You can view which ones we currently have here. There are also many more due to confirm shortly, so stay tuned!

Well now that we have a Livejournal for People who are going to Alcon to get iformation from and (hopefully) meet some new people, I just thought I'd intorduce myself as my name on here doesn't really say much
Name: Steve-O (if you've come from AL you might know me as "that guy who changes into a diffrent Yu-Gi-Oh monster once a month")
Age: 22
Location: Aberdeen
Duties at Alcon: Being a vampire, holding Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments, making sure that ample fun is had by myself and others.
Most looking forward to: Holding my tournaments, Seeing friends, cosplaying as yet another YGO card.
So yeah... Get to know each other. And behave yourself. I'll be keeping an eye on this place, and spread the love. After all, if anime fans can't get along, then the terrorists have won.
